Hotel Indigo is set to open it’s doors next month in downtown El Paso.
The boutique hotel is a first-time concept for the Sun City. It combines mid-century architecture with a contemporary design, all wrapped together with an El Paso touch that is sure to leave a lasting impression on whoever stays in one of their brand new 119 rooms.
Hotel Indigo, located at 325 N. Kansas is in the final stages of a $10 million renovation. The building has been home to several hotels and businesses since it was built in the 1960’s, most recently The Artisan Hotel. However, Hotel Indigo says their brand is an entirely new experience for the borderland.
“You will not find any two alike. Each hotel has to reflect the local story,” said Miguel Diaz, general manager.
And it does. The city of El Paso, and even Juarez is reflected in every aspect of the hotel; from the menu, to the furniture and art. In the rooms, one side of the wall reflects El Paso, on the other, Juarez. The windows are massive, wall to wall that offer amazing scenic views of El Paso. Even the wooden floors and rugs remind you that you’re in the southwest.
The ground floor will be home to a brand new restaurant called The Downtowner. Five stories up is where most of the foot traffic will happen. It will be home to the check in desk, with a stunning view of downtown El Paso as the backdrop, as well as a rooftop pool. Also on the fifth floor is the mixology bar called Circa 1964, which offers another beautiful view that will face West. The bar will serve beer from local breweries as well as old-fashion cocktails made from scratch. Two meeting rooms will also be available for rent on the fifth floor.
Hotel Indigo will open for business on December 17, 2015. Rooms will run between $129 to $259 per night. The hotel is accepting reservations on or after February 1, 2016.
