New Biomedical Building Coming to Central El Paso

If you driven in Central El Paso near I-10 and Reynolds in the past few months, you may have noticed a rectangular structure slowly rising from the ground.

It’s called the Cardwell Collaborative, a new building by the Medical Center of the Americas. The company broke ground on the $29 million 3-story complex in February and is expected to complete it by May of 2016. The 60,000 square foot building is the first high-tech biomedical research and technology building in El Paso. It will house biomedical institute RedSky and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, as well as a 20,000 square foot floor, called the Biomedical Incubator, which will offer lab and office space to private companies for research purposes.

Cardwell Collaborative is part of a massive 440-acre medical campus by the Medical Center of the Americas. The company plans to expand it’s footprint in El Paso in the coming years.
